A common misconception about solar panels is that they require a lot of maintenance and that could not be further from the truth. Solar systems require very little maintenance because they are built to withstand hail and other harsh weather conditions and they have no moving parts. Occasionally, solar panels will need to be cleaned if you live in an area with that has a lot of smog, dust or other debris, but this is very easy and inexpensive to have done! If you leave the dust to accumulate over a long amount of time, it can bring down your electricity production. That is why it is best to clean your panels every once-in-awhile!
Protection For Your Solar Investment
Summit Energy offers an industry leading 30 Year Warranty.
Worry Free with Warranties
Along with solar panels being very durable, there are a variety of warranties that guarantee you be covered in the rare event that something does happen to your panels! One of these great warranties is the power output warranty that manufacturers provide. This warranty guarantees that the panels performance will not fall below a certain point over the life of the warranty which is usually 30 years! For example, this warranty would not allow your production to fall below 85% for the entirety of the warranty! Some manufacturers offer a secondary warrant that guarantees a higher production for a shorter amount of time. For example, the warranty would offer that your electricity production does not fall below 90% for the first 10 years of your panels usage. It is always important to monitor your panels production to see if you have a wiring issue or not. If you can see that your panels are not producing the amount that they should be, then you can have them fixed under warranty and get back to producing the right amount of electricity!
